Factors affecting the surface roughness of the workpiece surface after chromium plating

The surface roughness of the workpiece after chrome plating is directly related to the following conditions:

1. The surface roughness of the substrate before plating: the smaller the surface roughness value of the substrate, the smaller the surface roughness value after plating;

2. The temperature of the plating solution: the surface roughness value is large after high temperature plating;

3. The size of the current density: the larger the current density, the larger the surface roughness value after plating;

4. Concentration of plating solution: the surface roughness value is large when the concentration of plating solution is large;

5. Plating time: The longer the plating time, the larger the surface roughness value.

There is little difference in surface roughness value before and after decorative chrome plating, and large difference in surface roughness value before and after hard chrome plating.
